Fonts and fontsize problems

Hi,

I have troubles with my matlab installation under linux. I am unable to change the fontsize of labels and axis annotations. They just don't change size. Also, I can't get latex characters working. I read some threads indicating that this problem may be related to missing fonts but didn't yet find a solution to fix the problem.

Any ideas are welcome! Thanks!

Unsolved problem for Ubutu 10.10 (I think it is) with 2010b (my memory says.)
