Hello everyone,
I am using my university cluster to run some CFD simulations. Till today I open matlab of university cluster remotely from my PC without any problem. Today however, it was not possible to open matlab window from my PC with the following error message:
License checkout failed. License Manager Error -15 MATLAB is unable to connect to the license server. Check that the license manager has been started, and that the MATLAB client machine can communicate with the license server.
Diagnostic Information: Feature: MATLAB License path: /eng/cvcluster/eggurkanc/.matlab/R2010a_licenses:/civeng/cvcluster/System/CentOS5.4/MATLAB/licenses/ license.dat:/civeng/cvcluster/System/CentOS5.4/MATLAB/licenses/network.lic FLEXnet Licensing error: -15,570. System Error: 115
I do not know it I am the source ofthis problem or I should contact with some ID guys in the university??
Thank you all in advance.

Did you try to resolve the issue with the solution document that was linked in the error message? If not, give it a try.
I yes and it does not help - contact MathWorks installation support. You may or may not need information from your university IT guys. I can't tell where you should start.

Subject: Why do I receive "License Manager Error -15"?
Problem Description: I receive the following error: License checkout failed. Cannot connect to license server. License Manager Error -15.
Solution: A License Manager Error -15 usually indicates that the license manager is not running, or that a client machine cannot properly communicate with the server machine running the license manager.
NOTE: If you are running Mac OS X under an Individual license, the MathWorks now offers a standalone license file for Mac OS X. If you are running a license manager, you may resolve this issue by updating to the standalone license file. Administrators and asset managers can access the license codes via the MathWorks website through the access login account.
If you receive this error on a client installation of MATLAB, check the following: ========================= 1. Can the client computer communicate with the license manager server? This can be verified by pinging the license manager machine with the following command in a command prompt or terminal window:
If this test fails you may have a networking error that is preventing the client from contacting the license manager server. Contact your network administrator to resolve this issue.
2. Make sure that the SERVER line of the license.dat on the client matches that of the license file on the server itself. If the SERVER line differs it may cause the client to contact the wrong server/port.
3. Check if there is a firewall(s) between the MATLAB client and the license server machine. The license manager communicates on two ports that must be opened through the firewall(s). For more information about these ports, see the related Solution (Why does the MATLAB license manager use two TCP ports?) linked below. If there is a firewall running, contact your System Administrator to open the necessary ports in the firewall.
If you receive this error on the license manager installation, check the following: =========================
1. Is the FLEXnet service running on the license manager server? If not, restart your license manager and try to run MATLAB again. Often, this alone eliminates this error.
For more information on how to restart the license manager, see the Related Solution linked below.
2. Make sure the TCP port numbers at the end of the SERVER and/or DAEMON lines in your license.dat file are not already being used by another application.
The license manager operates on two ports, one specified in the line that starts with the word 'SERVER' and another specified on the line that starts with the word 'DAEMON'.
Example:
SERVER My_Host My_HostID 27000DAEMON MLM to the DAEMON file port=1711 If the 'DAEMON' line has no "port=XXXX", it is using a random open port and you will need to only worry about the port in the SERVER line. In this example you will need to check ports 27000 and 1711. Consult your network administrator for help identifying ports in use. For more information about these ports, see the Related Solution (What ports does the MATLAB license manager use, and how can I set those ports?) linked below.
