Is the PMSM model in MATLAB continuous in nature?

As the EKF(Extended Kalamn Filter)is designed as a discrete model, PMSM which is avialble in MATLAB is continuous in nature?
We need to design PMSM in descrete or is it available in MATLAB?

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor documentation.
"Remarks
The model is discrete. Good simulation results have been obtained with a 2 µs time step. To simulate a digital controller device, the control system has two different sampling times:" [etc.]
