Use reshape and/or remap to create matrix where every other row is negative

How do I create the following matrix with only using reshape and/or repmat?

With only those two functions, you can't.

What's the starting point and what have you tried?

This looks like homework problem, so "show your work" and ask a more specific Q? about where you got stuck or MATLAB syntax, not "DOIT4ME"

This sounds like homework because a much better solution involves neither of those functions 🙂

ans = 4×4
