MatLab froze for a couple of seconds, and my mlx became empty

I was working on an undocked live script. When I clicked to dock it, MatLab froze, and after 15 seconds I was back in the main MatLab window, my live script was docked, but the editor was plain white. I closed the live script from the editor and opened it again, only to find an empty script. Is there a way to recover the content? The file still lives in the same folder I was working in, just the contents are gone.
I am using Ubuntu 20.04.

Hello Riste, I just had the same problem. Were you ever able to find a solution?
I was working on my Livescript and tried to run it, but Matlab froze, so I closed Matlab and restarted my computer. When I opened the same script again after restarting it was completely empty-- I had only expected to lose my progress from the last few minutes, not the entire script (which was long and had been saved many times before). The file reduced from several hundred KBS in size to only 3 KBS and is still stored in the same folder that it was before as a .mlx file.
I will be backing up files to MATLAB Drive from now on but wonder if I there is any way to recover this particular script. Using MATLAB r2021a on a Windows 10 machine.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Riste,
In my understanding, MATLAB froze for some time during which the content of .mlx file got erased. Now the content of the .mlx file needs to be recovered.
Following MATLAB Answers question (link to the question) discusses about the same issue and has also discussed about the workaround. The lost .mlx file can be found in the temporary folder. The freezing of MATLAB looks like a bug and might get solved in further releases.
I hope this helps!
