array of interpolant created with csape

Hello,

How can I create an array with 2 indexes containing objects created with csape, something like: f{a,b}=csape({u,v,w},z);

The line above is accepted by matlab but if I call fnval I get an error: fnval(f{a,b},x) gives: Error using fn2fm (line 54) Input is not a function.

Looks like MATLAB function csape needs a first argument as a function handle!

The doc csape text does not look like the 1st input is a function handle.
