Matlab executable requires 8.1 of MCR

I just received a MatLab executable file from a consultant and an error message indicates I am missing version 8.1 of the MCR. What should I do?

You could also download it yourself here:

Version 8.1 corresponds to R2013a as described at the bottom of this page.

A nice feature introduced in R2013b is that it automatically downloads the appropriate runtime, so these sorts of details are taken care of.
