Is Matlab/Simulink version R2010a compatible with Windows 8?

Just bought a new Windows 8 computer and want to use an old Matlab license for version R2010a. Is it compatible? I know it's compatible with Windows 7 so maybe it's fine for Windows 8?
If there's extra steps I have to take to get it to work on Windows 8, please let me know.

Windows 8: Support for Windows 8 begins in R2012a for x86-based computers.
