How do i increase the FPS in live video processing??

When doing video processing i take snapshots in while loop and process on it and display them in a video using vision.videoplayer, but it processes at around 1 FPS, how do mi increase it so that the video becomes more continous and eliminat the great time lag between 2 frames

Use smaller images or more efficient algorithms.
