What is the difference between baseboard and mainboard RS232 blocks in xPC Target?

Some of the RS232 blocks in xPC Target are associated with the mainboard and some are associated with the baseboard, but I do not know what is the difference between those 2 board types.

Documentation on the RS-232 blocks uses two terms when referring to the serial communication blocks: baseboard and mainboard.

The terms baseboard and mainboard both refer to the target PC main I/O board, usually the motherboard.
