Why do I get the error message "Push back buffer is full" when installing MATLAB?

I am installing MATLAB from downloads and I get the following error message:
Push back buffer is full
After this, the installation stops.

This error can occur when the MATLAB installation files have become corrupt during the download process. There is no way of knowing which files are corrupt, therefore, you should download all the installation files again and run the installer.
Note: some internet security software might corrupt files during download, in which case it is best to either disable the software during download, download on a different computer, or install using a MATLAB DVD.
