This educational Live Script illustrates the construction, training, and testing of a neural network to estimate the frequency and phase of a harmonic signal embedded in Gaussian noise. It shows how to use feedforwardnet and dlnetwork (from the Deep Learning Toolbox) in a nonlinear regression task with multiple continuous outputs and how to save the results for later use. The methods can be extended to similar regression problems.
This script may interest students and instructors in physics and related fields. 'Try this' suggestions, coding 'Challenges,' hyperlinks, and references are included for further exploration. Additional related Live Scripts by the author are available here.
