Rapid Prototyping and Hardware-in-the Loop Testing

  • Once a control design has been created and validated in simulation, you can use Simulink Real-Time to quickly verify it in real time with the actual plant hardware using rapid prototyping (RP) techniques or on the target processor with simulated plant hardware using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) techniques. Simulink Real-Time enables you to execute Simulink and Stateflow models in real time on Speedgoat target computer using a library of I/O card drivers, a real-time kernel, and a host-target interface for real-time monitoring, parameter tuning, and data logging.

Rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop tools include:

  • Simulink Real-Time: Perform real-time rapid control prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop simulation
  • Simulink Coder: Generate C and C++ code from Simulink and Stateflow models

Controller Implementation with Automatic Code Generation

  • Once the design of the control algorithm has been validated to be both behaviorally and mathematically correct, the next step is to deploy the algorithm. The path to deployment depends on your competition.
