Package app files into an MLAPPINSTALL file

Syntax

matlab.apputil.package(prjfile)

Description

matlab.apputil.package(prjfile) creates an MLAPPINSTALL file based on the information in the specified PRJ file. The PRJ file must be an app project file created in R2024b or earlier, for example by using matlab.apputil.create.

Examples

Create MLAPPINSTALL File for Previously Created Project File

Assume you previously created myprjfile.prj using matlab.apputil.create. The following command creates the corresponding .mlappinstall file.

matlab.apputil.package('myprjfile.prj')

Input Arguments

prjfile — Full or partial path to app project (.prj) file

character vector | string scalar

Full or partial path to app project (.prj) file, specified as a character vector or string scalar.

Example: 'plotdata.prj'

Example: "plotdata.prj"

MLAPPINSTALL Files

In R2024b and earlier, you could package an app as an MLAPPINSTALL file. Starting in R2025a, you can continue to share and run apps packaged as MLAPPINSTALL files and upgrade existing MLAPPINSTALL files. However, when packaging new apps, use the steps described in Package Apps in App Designer.
